Hooves  on  the  Horizon
Using horseback riding and horsemanship, the Hooves on the Horizon program provides therapy and recreation opportunities to children and youth who have a diverse range of physical, cognitive and emotional disabilities.  Experiences with a horse can positively affect a person's life.  Horseback riding can improve a rider's strength, balance, postural control, muscle tone, coordination and motor skills.  While riding, one can also make gains in sensory processing, confidence, and emotional well-being, as well as communication, cognitive development and ability to focus, among other things.
Lessons are taught in a private or small group format, by a teacher who is trained in Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) methods.
Our facilities include an indoor arena so lessons can continue all during the year.
